Frequently Asked Questions

When adult children and seniors in any of New York’s five boroughs begin to explore senior care options, in-home care is usually at the top of their list. Personal care and companion support can help an older adult stay safe at home longer. There are a few questions that almost always arise during the search for care. To address these concerns, we’ve assembled a list of frequently asked home care questions.

Q: How long will it take to arrange a caregiver for my senior loved one?
A: We understand there is often a great sense of urgency to arrange for personal care and support for an older adult. Once we complete the initial assessment, a caregiver will be immediately assigned.

Q: Can I choose the caregiver who will work with my parent?
A: Absolutely! We allow seniors and their families to interview three different caregivers before services begin.

Q: Are caregivers certified? Do they receive on-going training?
A: Yes. Each of our caregivers is certified. Once hired, they will continue to attend monthly training sessions to keep their skills updated and to learn new techniques for working with seniors. We also share new research and information on dementia care, healthy aging, caregiver support and more at these training sessions.

Q: What services do you offer?
A: We offer a wide variety of in-home care and services to help older adults in all five New York City boroughs stay independent in their own homes. Those services include assistance with personal care, grocery shopping, meal preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, transportation, and much more!

Q: What if my needs or my senior loved one’s need for care changes?
A: Our team closely monitors each client’s progress. If the plan of care needs to be fine-tuned, the caregiver will review their concerns with a supervisor. A recommendation for adjustments to the care plan will be shared with the client and with their family if requested.

Q: Why should I hire Kingsbridge?
A: Personal attention is the hallmark of Kingsbridge Home Health Care. It begins with an individualized plan of care that we create just for you or your senior loved one.Our experienced, reliable caregivers use that plan to help each client maintain their optimum level of wellness and independence. Q: What are your hours and rates?
A: Kingsbridge Home Health Care staff is available 24/7. We can provide care for just a few hours a week or around the clock if needed. Rates are based on each client’s individual plan of care.

Q: How often will I be billed for home care services?
A: We bill each client on a bi-weekly basis.

Q: Do you accept private insurance?
A: Yes we do. We are required to verify coverage and receive an authorization from each insurance company before services can begin.

Q: Do you accept Medicare and Medicaid?
A: Unfortunately, we are not currently licensed by Medicare or Medicaid.

Q: What forms of payment do you accept?
A: We accept personal checks, all major credit cards and PayPal.
